“Shift: Grinding the Gears”
Tension . . .
In life God will lead us to a point of tension that requires us to make a shift.
· Abraham experienced a crisis of belief.
o Move beyond fear or become paralyzed by it.
§ Fear of losing a dream
§ Fear of a letting go of what’s familiar
§ Fear of the unknown
§ Fear of failure
§ Fear of _____________
o Trust the voice of the one who is leading you.
“When he has brought out all his own, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice.” Matthew 10:4
A major shift requires you to go with God, or you will “red line” your life.
· You can’t stay where you are and go with God.
o The tension will launch you or break you.
Trust . . .
In the major shifts in life you can trust the character of God.
· He always does what is right.
· He always does what is best.
· He always remains faithful.
God’s faithfulness in the past should give you confidence in His faithfulness today.
When I trust God by obediently making the shift to follow Him, God’s greatness and goodness are displayed.
· In my life personally.
· In the world.
o Abraham had no clue the full extent of God’s promise that his obedience would bring.
