This week our scripture can be found in Genesis, Chapter 1 - Verses 31 and Chapter 3 - Verses 1 - 24.
Today's teaching is found in three simple words: "Creation,
Catastrophe, Calvary."
Creation - After God had created for six days and rested and pronounced that Creation was good. In fact, He used that description six times culminating with "very good". In short, Creation was perfect, pristine, without flaw or blemish.
Catastrophe - In the midst of God's perfect Creation, there was a Fall and then there was a Fallout. God gave specific instructions to Adam and Eve, in fact, He poured blessing upon blessing but He put a fence around one thing.
After Adam and Eve's sin, a curse was pronounced upon Creation and all of humanity. Sin infected all that God had created and ever since Creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the children of God.
Calvary - But wait, the good news FAR outweighs the bad news! Even in the first book of the Bible, God was preparing for Jesus to reconcile mankind to Himself. God made a way, a provision through Christ for all mankind to have a relationship with Him, despite the curse of sin and our rebellion toward God. In the first book of the Bible, God demonstrated His love for His Creation through the promise of the sacrifice of His only Son.
