We invite you to listen today as we start a new series, "The Priority of Community". Today we will be talking about the early church and how the new believers shared all that they had with joyful and sincere hearts.

Let's examine what the Bible says about how we live (or don't live) in community:

1. The Power of Association - This new group of believers were marked by their devotion to God's Word, unity of spirit, and sharing of their possessions so that all of the groups needs were met. In short, they did LIFE together! Because of this dedication to living life in community they saw the unbelieving come to faith in Christ.

2. The Peril Of Isolation - But there is another way of life, a life that many in today's culture have embraced, and that is the life of isolation. Think about it, we often drive to work alone and today we often work alone, we spend much of our today with earphones in our ears, blocking out interactions with others, we eat meals at different times, and watch TV in different rooms. Proverbs 18:1 says, "Whoever isolates himself seeks his own desire; he breaks out against all sound judgment." That is why God created us to live in community!
