“What In the World - The Advance of the Gospel”
Acts 4:1-31; 5:17-42; Philippians 1:12-14
From the Table to the World . . .
“For as often as you eat this bread, and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes.” 1 Corinthians 11:26
· When we come to the table we remember His sacrifice for our sin.
· My reflective remembrance should lead to me to unashamed proclamation of His gospel.
o Personal faith is not meant to be a private faith.
Gospel Advance . . .
Remember what the climate of the culture was as the apostles took this gospel to the nations. There was much persecution. (Acts 4:1-31; 5:17-42)
· Persecution paves the way for proclamation of the gospel. (Philippians 1:12-14)
· The gospel has always thrived in times of difficulty and tribulation.
o Persecution has never hindered the gospel, only facilitated its increase.
