Serving one another ultimately means serving others as Jesus has served you.
When you serve one another, you tangibly display the love of God.
“For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.” Galatians 5:13
Love compels you to serve
When you serve one another, without pretense, you display the grace of God.
“As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace . . .” 1 Peter 4:10
When you serve one another, you follow the example of Jesus.
“Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though He was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but made Himself nothing, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.” Philippians 2:5-8
“ . . . even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.” Matthew 20:28
When you serve one another, you are changing the world.
If loving one another changes the world, and loving one another is visibly expressed in serving one another, then serving one another can change the world.
In order to serve one another well, you need to be aware of the needs around you.
