“Uncommon:  An Uncommon Woman”

1 Peter 3:1-6

If you are going to have an uncommon marriage it will take an uncommon man and an uncommon woman surrendering to and pursuing an uncommon Savior.

Living As A Sojourner . . .

Regardless if your sojourning is enjoyable or difficult, in all things it is to be purposeful in pointing people to Christ.

Even in marriage we find ourselves as exiles and sojourners who are not home yet.

  • For His glory (exaltation)
  • For our good (sanctification)

An Uncommon Wife . . .

  • She is an uncommon woman who humbly submits, for the Lord’s sake, to her husband for the purpose of winning him to Christ. (v.1)
    • By conduct, not by words.
      • To speak the gospel requires words alone, but to live out the gospel requires humble surrender.

Uncommon Conduct . . .

  • A reverent fear and worshipful awe of God. (1 Peter 1:17, 2:17, 3:6)
  • A genuine Christ-like humility. (1 Peter 5:5-7)
  • A sincere Christ-like love. (1 Peter 2:23)
    • A gentle and quiet (1 Peter 3:4)
  • A steadfast trust in a sovereign (1 Peter 2:23)

Let your husband eat of the fruit of the Spirit that God cultivates in you as you spend time daily in God’s presence. (Galatians 5:22-23)
