The Wonder of God’s Greatest Gift . . .

Isaiah 9:1-7

 

God Knows Best . . .

  • God knows best what we need most.
    • Christ has entered into the darkness of our world, as the light of salvation, to bring us hope and cause our hearts to celebrate with joy.

 

The Best Gift Ever . . .

  • He is the Wonderful Counselor
    • We need wisdom and direction so God has given us His Son who is our wonderful counselor.

“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with My eye upon you.”  Psalm 32:8

 

“I bless the LORD who gives me counsel; in the night also my heart instructs me.  I have set the LORD always before me; because He is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken.”  Psalm 16:7-8

 

“Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God!  How unsearchable are His judgments and how inscrutable His ways!  For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who has been His counselor?”  Romans 11:33-34

 

“. . . in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.”  Colossians 2:3

 

  • He is Mighty
    • We need strength so God has given us His Son who is Mighty God.
      • When the enemy seems to have the upper hand, remember that God’s hand is sovereign.

“Who is this King of Glory?  The LORD, strong and mighty, the LORD, mighty in battle!”  Psalm 24:8

 

“For the Lord your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great, the mighty, and the awesome God, who is not partial and takes no bribe.”  Deuteronomy 10:17

 

 

 

  • He is Everlasting Father.
    • We need to be fathered, so God has given us His Son who shepherds

  • He is Prince of Peace.
    • We need peace, so God has given us His Son who is the Prince of Peace.

“For He Himself is our peace . . .”  Ephesians 2:14a

 

The Everlasting Gift . . .

  • There never has been, nor will there ever be, an end to the rule and reign of Christ.
