Matthew 25:1-13

Introduction:

 

The king has always been a coming king

1.      He came as Emmanuel (Isaiah 7:14, 9:1-2, 6-7)

2.      He came as Savior (Luke 19:10)

3.      He will come as King of Kings

They did not know when.

But they knew the bridegroom would arrive

The Response of the 5 women

Unprepared

Consequences

 

The Coming King

The Promise of Jesus’ coming

We don’t know when (Matthew 24:36)

He’s coming as a thief (1 Thessalonians 5:2, 2 Peter 3:10, Revelation 3:3)

But we know Jesus is coming (John 14:2-3)

HE WILL COME AS KING OF KINGS (Rev. 19:11-16)

The Response of the World

Many people will be unprepared (Matthew 7:21-23)

The Consequence (Revelation 20:11-15, 2 Peter 3:3-4, 8-9)
