James 5:7-11
Truth Statement:
The hope of what awaits us in the Second Coming of Christ sustains us in suffering that we might persevere with joy through suffering.
In the days of suffering . . .
· Be patient in suffering. (Isaiah 53:7-9; Galatians 6:9)
· Remain steadfast in suffering. (Hebrews 12:2-3)
· Resist grumbling in your suffering. (Isaiah 53:7-9; James 5:9; 1 Peter 3:8-17)
o Instead, glorify God in the name of Christ. (1 Peter 4:16)
· Remember God’s sovereignty in your suffering. (Genesis 50:20; James 5:11)
