In this message, Pastor Phil discusses marriage, and what a God-designed, God-ordained, unshakeable, unbreakable authentic marriage looks like.
1) The Heavenly Origin of Marriage - In Genesis 2, verses 18 - 25, God declared that it was not good for man to be alone, and He created for man a woman, a partner for life.
2) The Obvious Need for Marriage - After God assigned Adam the job of naming all the animals, it was apparent to Adam that all the animals had partners but that he was alone. God was showing Adam that it was not good that he didn't have a corresponding partner, someone who would complete him, not just physically for procreation, but also emotionally and spiritually, someone also made in God's image.
3) The Divine Design in Marriage - God's plan for us was to move us from the Parent family unit while we were children, to the Marriage family unit when we became adults. We are to leave the dependency of our Father's and Mother's and become One with our husband / wife. Then God becomes the center of that partnership and the framework for the next generation is established.
4) The Perfect Witness from Marriage - We see that God has established marriage as His crowing achievement of His perfect Creation. Marriage is a witness to God's goodness, and ultimately a witness to Jesus Christ.
