“Beyond the Grave”

Acts 2:22-36

Hope Beyond the Grave . . .

  • Jesus has defeated the enemy you could never defeat.
    • Death is a reality that we would like to ignore, but we cannot escape.

“ . . . and so death spread to all men because all sinned . . .” Romans 5:12

  • You cannot defeat death, but you can surrender to the One who has.

“But God released Him (Jesus) from the horrors of death and raised Him back to life, for death could not keep Him in its grip.”  Acts 2:24 (New Living Translation)

“This Jesus, God raised up, and of that we are all witnesses.”  Acts 2:32

  • Jesus will ultimately destroy death forever.

“The last enemy to be destroyed is death.” 1 Corinthians 15:26

“ . . . that through death He (Jesus) might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is the devil, and deliver all those who through fear of death were subject to lifelong slavery.”  Hebrews 2:14,15

“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”  Revelation 21:4

  • By way of the cross and His resurrection, Jesus has sealed the destiny of death.

  • God gives life to all who surrender to the resurrected Savior, Jesus Christ.

“ . . . who (Jesus) abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel . . .” 2 Timothy 1:10

“For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive.”  1 Corinthians 15:22

“Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with Him.”  Romans 6:8
