ENCOURAGE ONE ANOTHER . . .

  • Encourage one another by how you live out your faith in Jesus.

“For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to strengthen you—that is, that we may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith, both yours and mine.”  Romans 1:11-12

  • So others will see that our faith is not empty.
  • So others will see that our faith points to our hope in Jesus.
  • So others will see that our faith forms how we live.

  • Encourage one another by speaking sincere words that build up, not tear

“Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.”  1 Thessalonians 5:11

“Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.”  Ephesians 4:29

“Death and life are found in the power of the tongue . . .”  Proverbs 18:21a

  • Encourage one another to love like Jesus and do good.

“And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works . . .”  Hebrews 10:24

  • Encourage one another by gathering together as followers of Jesus.

“ . . . not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.”  Hebrews 10:25

  • Encourage one another when they become weary in doing good.

“And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.  So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.”  Galatians 6:9,10
